On Sunday, January 22, the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth, MA, hosted Cape Cod's Beloved Soprano Joan Kirchner, tenor Brian Billiter, and pianist Chris Morris in a benefit for CVSA. The evening also included a silent auction and refreshments..
Brian Billiter has performed widely on the Cape—with the First Parish Brewster's Choir, Chatham Chorale, Chatham Chorale Chamber Singers, The New Cape Singers and as a finalist in the 2007 Boston Popsearch, where he sang with Keith Lockhart, and the Pops in Boston's Symphony Hall. While working as an American Red Cross volunteer, Brian also sang for evacuees, troops, and disaster relief workers in Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Chris Morris, Music Director at Brewster Baptist Church, is also on faculty at the Academy of Performing Arts and Cape Cod Conservatory and Director of choral group "The NoteAbles." The trio performed at the Cultural Center to raise funds for CVSA (Cyclic Vomiting Syndrome Association) and to increase public awareness of the syndrome. Brian Billiter's daughter Breanna, who suffers from the syndrome, also known as "abdominal migraines," has been a prominent advocate for the association. |
