WOODSTOCK: An Evening of Song and Celebration with Carlene Thissen

On Friday, September 12, the Jacob Sears Memorial Library in East Dennis, MA, hosted a cabaret starring singer/songwriter Carlene Thissen from Naples, Florida. Carlene's expressive style is inspired by such greats of the Woodstock era as Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Judy Collins, Melanie, and Peter, Paul & Mary.

Yes, Carlene was at Woodstock and remembers enough to talk about it! Carlene (also a published author) will share observations about the impact that the political and social movements of the '60s and 70s had on folk music and how, in turn, the music inspired and influenced events.  

 

Carlene gave her audience a first-person look at Woodstock---from "Alice's Restaurant" and "Blowin' in the Wind" to "Woodstock" and "We Can Change the World."
