In the colorful and decadent Parisian culture of the turn of the 20th century, American jazz took Europe by storm in the cafés and cabarets in and around Montmartre, and this musical revolution also captured the hearts and minds of painters, writers and intellectuals, influencing their thoughts and works. On Sunday, April 24, "I Musicisti" took its audience at the Cultural Center back to this Bohemian setting for an evening of fun and reminiscence as they presented cabaret tunes, a bit of Joplin ragtime and music from such greats as Gerswhin, Debussy, Poulenc and even Puccini, who lived in Paris for a time.
“I Musicisti” performers include, Anne Franciose Perrault, Mark Crociati, and Joan Kirchner. Click here to experience a taste of this group's engaging music: I Musicisti
