On Monday, July 10, the Meeting House Chamber Music Festival presented the fourth of its seven concerts of the 2017 season. Mezzo-soprano Krista River performed with harpist Elisabeth Remy Johnson and pianist Donald Enos. The program included W.F. Bach's Duetto for harp and piano; Ravel's Five Greek Folk Songs; Caplet's Divertissements à la française and à l’espagnole; and Salzedo's Variations on a Theme in Ancient Style, as well as music by Rossini, Britten, Massenet, and Damase. The concert was given at the festival’s primary venue, Church of the Holy Spirit, Orleans.
Krista River, a resident of Boston, has been praised by The New York Times for "her
shimmering voice...with the virtuosity of a violinist and the expressivity of an actress.”
Elisabeth Remy Johnson grew up on Cape Cod, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University and, upon graduation, was appointed principal harpist of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. Her performances have been described as "meticulous, full of variety, and gorgeously vibrant.” Donald Enos is the founder, artistic director, and pianist for the Meeting House Chamber Music Festival, Cape Cod’s longest-running music festival, now in its 44th year. Known for his astonishing versatility and eloquence at the keyboard, Enos also holds the position of Wesley DeLacy Chair with the Cape Symphony.
