"Pastoral Beauty," a concert featuring the rarely heard but astonishing music of Claudio Monteverdi, was presented on Saturday, August 26 at 7:00 pm at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Falmouth, and Sunday, August 27 at 3:00 pm at the Congregational Church of Chatham.
Performers included Joan Kirchner and Jessica Edgar, sopranos; Todd Fruth, tenor; and Lucy Banner, pianist. Music will include selections from the master’s well-known “1610 Vespers," his opera “The Coronation of Poppea” and his many books of madrigals. Solos, duets, and trios covering sacred and secular texts illustrate the many facets of the long career of this pivotal composer.
An intimate and inspiring concert featuring infrequently performed works from a great composer!
